Why we ask for support

DeadEarth has no ads and no paywall. That’s a choice: we want to write about technology and the planet without anyone leaning over our shoulder. Independence still has costs, though: hosting, translation into Persian and Arabic, design, editing and time. Voluntary gifts from readers are how we cover them.

Where your gift goes

More than 60% goes to the planet. We pass it on to environmental charities and tree-planting work. The rest keeps the magazine running: hosting, translation, design and editing.

We will name the organisations we support on this page, so you can see where the money goes.

Which coins and networks

We accept Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), USDT on Tron, USDC on Base, Solana (SOL) and BNB on BNB Smart Chain. Always send on the network shown next to the coin. A gift sent on the wrong network can be lost for good.

Your privacy

We don’t ask for your name, your email or any personal detail when you give. A crypto transaction is public on its blockchain, which is outside our control, but the donation box itself collects nothing about you. The details are in our Privacy Policy.

Questions

How much of my donation goes to the environment?

More than 60% goes to environmental charities and tree planting. The rest keeps DeadEarth independent and running.

Which coins can I use?

Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), USDT on Tron, USDC on Base, Solana (SOL) and BNB on BNB Smart Chain.

Is there a minimum amount?

No. The donation box suggests $5 to $100, but you can type any amount.

Can I donate anonymously?

Yes. We don't collect your name or email through the donation box. Blockchain transactions are public by nature, though, and that part is outside our control.

What if I send on the wrong network?

Funds sent on the wrong network can be lost for good. Use exactly the network shown next to each coin before you send.

My wallet didn't fill in the amount. What now?

Some wallets ignore the amount in the QR code. Copy the amount shown on screen and paste it into your wallet.

How will I know how the money was used?

We will name the organisations we support on this page.
