About DeadEarth
What is DeadEarth Magazine?
A small independent magazine. Every weekday we share one piece of tech news and tell you plainly what it could cost the Earth. Our story is on the About page.
Why is it called “Dead Earth”?
Because that's where this road ends if nobody pays attention. It's a warning, not a prediction. We put it in the name so we can't forget it.
Is DeadEarth really independent?
Yes. No government, company or party is behind us, and we run no ads. Editorial decisions are ours.
Where are you based?
Right now we're based in Turkey. We write for readers everywhere.
Reading the magazine
What do you cover?
Five topics: Intelligence (AI), Decentralized (blockchain and digital currencies), Sustainability, Cosmos (space) and Robotics. In every story we ask the same two things: what does it cost the Earth, and who gains?
How often do you publish?
One news story every weekday, a different topic each day, at 09:00 UTC. On Saturday, also at 09:00 UTC, we publish one longer piece in the Blog, built from your ideas. A short summary of each one reaches our Telegram channels at 09:30 UTC.
What is a Planet Impact Statement?
A short, plain note at the end of every news story. It says what the story could mean for the Earth, its ecosystems, its trees and its waste. We mark each harm as “certain” (we have a number and a source) or “probable” (it's an estimate). It's our editorial view, not a scientific measurement or an environmental audit.
Can I send my ideas?
Yes, please. Use the contact form and tell us how you would slow this harm down or balance it. On Saturday we turn your ideas into steps people can actually take.
Which languages do you publish in?
English, Persian and Arabic. Use the language buttons to switch. Persian and Arabic pages read from right to left.
Is the magazine free?
Yes. No paywall, no ads. Support from readers is voluntary.
How do I find an article?
Use the search in the header, or open one of the five topics. Saturday pieces are in the Blog.
Is what you publish financial advice?
No. Everything we publish is for information only. Digital assets carry real financial risk, so do your own research. Read our Disclaimer before you rely on an article.
AI, translation and corrections
Do you use AI to write the magazine?
AI tools help us edit, translate between English, Persian and Arabic, and make some of the images. A person checks every piece before it goes out.
Can I trust the Persian and Arabic versions?
They're written to say exactly what the English says. If you find a mistake, tell us. If a translation isn't ready yet, the page shows the English version and says so.
I found a mistake. How do I report it?
Write to us through the contact form or at [email protected]. Send the page address and tell us what you think is wrong. If we're wrong, we fix it and say so.
Subscribing
What do I get when I subscribe?
Every Sunday at 09:00 UTC we send you one email with a PDF of all that week’s content from DeadEarth, in the language (or languages) you choose: English, Persian or Arabic. If you choose more than one, the email is written in English and carries one PDF for each language you chose.
Is the subscription free?
Yes. Free, with no payment, ever.
How do I subscribe?
Press Subscribe in the header (or open the Subscribe page), type your email address, choose the language (or languages) of your PDF, tick the box and press the Subscribe button. We'll ask you to confirm your address, so check your inbox.
Can I change the language of my PDF, or get more than one?
Yes. Press the unsubscribe link in any weekly email, then subscribe again and choose the languages you want (one, two or all three). You can also write to us at [email protected].
I didn’t get the confirmation email.
Check your spam or junk folder first, then try again. Still nothing? Write to us at [email protected].
How do I unsubscribe?
Every email has an unsubscribe link. Or write to us and we'll remove you.
What do you do with my email address?
We use it only to send you the weekly email. We never sell, rent or trade it. Details are in our Privacy Policy.
Donations
Why do you ask for donations?
Staying independent costs money: hosting, translation into Persian and Arabic, design, editing and time. We have no ads and no paywall, so voluntary gifts from readers are how we pay for it.
How much of my donation goes to the environment?
More than 60% goes to environmental charities and tree planting. The rest keeps the magazine running.
How do I donate?
Press Donate in the header, choose a coin, set the amount and scan the QR code with your wallet app. The full steps are on the Donation page.
Which coins can I use?
Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), USDT on Tron, USDC on Base, Solana (SOL) and BNB on BNB Smart Chain.
Is there a minimum amount?
No. The donation box suggests $5 to $100, but you can type any amount.
How do you turn dollars into coins?
When you pick an amount in dollars, your browser asks Binance for the current coin price (or CoinGecko if Binance can't be reached). The amount follows the market rate and is rounded.
Does the QR code include the amount?
Yes, it holds the address and the amount. Some wallets ignore the amount, though. If yours leaves it empty, copy the amount from the screen. You can also pick a code with the address only.
What if I send on the wrong network?
The money can be lost for good. Send only the coin on the network shown next to it, and check before you send.
Can I get a refund?
No. Donations are voluntary gifts, they can't be refunded and they give no special access. Crypto transactions can't be reversed.
Are donations tax-deductible?
We can’t give tax advice, so we can’t promise that. If it matters to you, ask a tax adviser.
Can I donate anonymously?
Yes. The donation box asks for no name or email. Blockchain transactions are public by nature, though, and we can't change that.
How will I know how the money was used?
We'll name the organisations we support on the Donation page.
Privacy and cookies
What data do you collect?
Very little: a contact message if you send one, your email address if you subscribe, and basic server logs. We also count visitors with a simple counter that keeps no address; it only uses a random device code saved in your browser and in one small cookie of ours, and notes in plain words where you came from (for example “Google”), whether you use a computer, tablet or phone, and how long you stayed. No third-party analytics, no advertising or affiliate tracking.
Do you use cookies?
Only what the site needs: your language, your cookie choice, your sound choice, a random device code for the visitor counter (also kept in one small cookie for a year) and, for ten minutes, the latest coin prices in the donation box. All of it stays in your browser. See the Cookies Policy.
How do I ask about, correct or delete my data?
Write to [email protected]. You can ask to see your data, ask us to correct or delete it, and take back your consent at any time. More in the Privacy Policy.

How can I contact you?
Use the contact form and pick a topic, or write to [email protected]. A person reads every message and replies when we can. We'll share a postal address very soon.
Can I advertise or partner with DeadEarth?
Choose “Advertising & partnerships” in the contact form and tell us your idea. We don’t publish sponsored content right now. If that changes, it will be clearly labelled.
Can I write for you?
Choose “Write for us / guest posts” in the contact form and send us your idea. We read every message.
I’m a journalist. Who do I write to?
Choose “Press & media” in the contact form.
Can I quote or republish your articles?
You can share links and quote short parts with credit. To republish, give clear credit and a direct link to the original. Please don’t copy whole articles or pass our work off as yours. Details are in our Terms & Conditions.
Using the website
Why is there no sound on the home page?
Browsers allow sound only after you click, tap or press a key on the page. Click anywhere once, or use the Sound button to turn it on or off.
Can I skip the home page story?
Yes. Press “Skip intro” and you go straight past the story.
The home page is slow or looks wrong. What can I do?
The home story uses modern browser features. Update your browser and reload the page. Still not working? Write to us under “Technical issues” and tell us your device and browser.
